What you need to know moving forward with your choice
Why choose laminated timber with technical approval?
Ordinary solid wood has limitations: it twists when drying and has limited strength. Our glulam beams are made from selected wood strips, technically dried and glued with special structural adhesives. Technical Agrement is your guarantee that the adhesive won't fail over time and that the beam can withstand the snow or seismic loads called for in the design. Don't risk family safety with uncertified materials.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a laminated beam and a solid wood beam?
The difference is in stability and strength. A solid (monobloc) timber beam tends to twist and crack as it dries out, with length limits. A glulam beam is made of technically dried wooden slats glued together with strong structural adhesives. The result is a beam that does not deform, does not work over time and allows much larger openings (over 8-10m) without supporting pillars.
Do you deliver the beams together with the necessary documents for the reception of the house?
Yes, mandatory. Our beams are produced according to European standards. On delivery, you will receive the Declaration of Performance and a copy of the Technical Agrement. These documents are required by the site manager and are essential to be able to make the final acceptance of the construction at the City Hall and the State Building Inspectorate.
