About us

EcoCasa is a construction company specializing in wooden houses, with its own production facility in Bacău. Our projects have been completed across Romania and in three European countries: Belgium, France and Sweden.

Since 2007, we have gained solid experience in residential timber construction, realizing both compact holiday homes and villas with complex structure and contemporary architecture. Each project is tailored to the site, client needs and local building regulations.

Unlike builders who only install materials purchased from external suppliers, EcoCasa controls the entire process: from the production of the materials in our own factory to the final installation on site. This vertical integration allows us to guarantee consistent quality, transparency in execution and clear delivery deadlines.

Since 2018, EcoCasa has been producing in its own factory in Bacău I-Joist beams and lamellar beams - being among the first companies in Romania with this industrial capacity.

All the materials manufactured by us have Technical Approval according to NE 012/1-2010, the essential document for the reception of any wooden house in Romania. Without technical approval, the structure cannot be legalized at the town hall and ISC (State Building Inspectorate).

Whether your project is in Moldova, Transylvania, Muntenia or other regions, our erection teams travel with pre-debated materials to Bacău and assemble the structure turnkey. We comply with local building regulations and provide all necessary certifications for acceptance.

STANDARDS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Certified Quality and Compliant Construction

All the materials we produce and use in construction are certified according to the standards in force in Romania. The Technical Approval is the key document that guarantees the safety of the structure of your house and compliance with the Civil Code and Law 10/1995.

Without a technical approval, a wooden house cannot be approved by the town hall and cannot obtain the ISC (State Building Inspectorate) authorization.

Frequently asked questions about EcoCasa wooden houses

Building a wooden house is significantly faster than traditional masonry construction. A wooden house is usually completed in a matter of months, from foundation to handing over the keys, compared to traditional construction which can take over a year.

The exact duration depends on the complexity of the project, the area built, the type of finishes chosen and the weather conditions. The main wooden structure is quickly assembled - the supporting frame can be erected in a few weeks. Then comes the roofing, insulation, plumbing and finishing.

The major advantage of wooden construction is that the materials are pre-debugged in our factory in Bacău, so that only the assembly is done on site, without time wasted on measurements and improvised cutting.

EcoCasa realizes wooden house projects all over Romania and Europe.

For remote projects, the materials are pre-debugged in our factory and transported to the construction site, where the team erects the structure according to plan. Technical supervision and quality control are the same regardless of location. We comply with local building regulations and provide all necessary certifications for city hall and ISC acceptance.

The Technical Approval is an official document issued by authorized bodies (such as URBAN-INCERC) which certifies that a material or construction system complies with the Romanian building standards.

For structural timber beams (I-Joist, lamellar), the technical approval confirms: - Resistance to loads (weight, snow, wind) - Behavior to fire - Durability over time - Conformity with NE 012/1-2010 (norm for timber structures)

Why is it compulsory?
Without a technical approval, a wooden house cannot be accepted by the municipality. The ISC (State Building Inspectorate) checks that all structural materials have an up-to-date technical approval. If the beams do not have this document, the town hall cannot issue the authorization for the house.

EcoProfesional holds technical approval for all beams manufactured in Bacău and delivers certified copies of this document to each client for the reception file.

Both types of beams are structural materials for wooden houses, but have different uses:

I-Joist beams have an “I” shaped profile (two solid wood planks + OSB core) and are used for: - Planking (ceilings between floors) - Roofs with medium spans (3-8 meters) - Structures where installations (electrical, thermal) must pass through the thickness of the beam

Advantages: lighter, allow installations to pass through, quick assembly.

Lamellar beams They are made of pressure-glued layers of wood and are used for: - Strength structures with large spans (6-12 meters) - Decorative exposed beams (remain visible on the inside) - Load-bearing posts for multi-storey houses

Advantages: very strong, can support heavy loads, natural aesthetic appearance.

EcoProfesional manufactures both types in Bacău, all with technical approval. The architect and structural engineer recommend the right type depending on the project.

Yes, we offer guarantee according to the Romanian Civil Code: - Load-bearing structure guarantee: for wooden beams, pillars, frames (duration according to contract) - - - for wooden beams, pillars, frames (duration according to contract) Finishes and installations warranty: for interior/exterior finishing work and electrical/thermal/sanitary installations

The warranty covers manufacturing and assembly defects, but does not cover degradation caused by: - Incorrect maintenance (lack of periodic treatment) - Unauthorized alterations to the structure - Fire, flood or other natural calamities - Normal wear and tear of finishes

Durability of treated wood:
All beams we produce are chemically treated against pests (insects, fungi) and fireproofed for fire resistance. Under normal operating conditions and with proper maintenance, the wooden structure has a very long lifespan - there are wooden houses over 100 years old in Northern Europe.
